About Treme

Treme is known for its rich cultural and music history that has stood the test of time for being known as ground zero for Jazz, Second Lines and Mardi Gras for the locals. The Treme culture was acknowledged by Hollywood through the filming of the TV series Treme on HBO.

New Orleans is recognized globally as the birthplace of Jazz and Treme is the center of this badge of honor for the city of New Orleans. Some of the greats that graced the Treme Speakeasies, Night Clubs and the streets were Buddy Bolden (known as the first man of Jazz), Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong just to name a few. The new generation from Treme has also made its mark on the music scene. Trombone Shorty, Glen Davis, Grammy Award winning Rebirth Brass band and world renown drummer Derrick Tabb.

Treme is also home to the hottest Second Line Club in the city of New Orleans, the Treme Sidewalk Steppers. When they hit the streets traditionally on Super Bowl Sunday it is a mini Mardi Gras in New Orleans on that Sunday.
